Jesse and Mary Jane Inbody were married on 18 August 1876 in Atchison County, Missouri.  Their first child, Daniel, was born in 1877.  Soon thereafter, they moved to Smith County, Kansas, where Jesse took out a 160 acre homestead north of Smith Center, KS.  They lived there for at least 11 years, having four girls and one more boy added to their growing family.  Between 1888 and 1891, they sold their land to Mary Jane's brother, George Kirkendall, and moved back to Atchison County, MO, settling near Rock Port.  There, they had their last three children.  Mary Jane died in 1910 with Jesse joining her in 1920.
